Server Maintenance For Hospitals
Your servers are the most critical part of your infrastructure. They host critical applications, and most of your users are accessing them to do their job. Therefore, they need constant maintenance to remain effective and to minimize downtime.
Don't leave your servers without regular mainteance and protection!
Does your network administrator have time to check the log files on each server? When was the last time you check your backup server and restore data? Do you know if backup is getting done every night as it is scheduled? Is anyone checking to make sure that your servers are not running out of hard drive space?
A network administrator has to check many aspects of a server, but unfortunately, they are busy with day-to-day operations and they don't have the time to check server activities. Usually, they find out about problems after it happens, such as running out of hard drive space, backup was not done, old users account were not deleted, and more.
In order to prevent disaster from happening, your network administrators must check servers regularly. Ask your network administrators if they could use some help with daily routine checks on the servers, and they would tell you "YES". Some examples are: old users need to be deleted, old email accounts need to be deleted, and print servers have to be standardized.
You could outsource some of the tasks and make sure your servers are up to date. These tasks could be done quarterly and they will help the server uptime and prevent disasters.
Besides servers, you may want to check your network design. Many networks grow gradually, and you need to verify your network architecture and design and if it can handle your business today. If you ever hear users are complaining about network slowness, then it is time to check the network design.
Your network design makes a big difference on how it operates.
